Recently restored to their original splendour the Assembly rooms are the pride of The Crown. The Assembly rooms are beautifully proportioned with high ceilings, an original Georgian fireplace and elegant mirrors.

The recently restored cornice is enhanced by sparkling twin 36 branch chandeliers, all of which are overlooked by a fine Minstrels gallery and with a nod to the 21st century, air conditioning. Visitors to the Assembly rooms are visibly awed by the sheer beauty and elegance that greets them.

The Crown Hotel is licensed to perform Civil Marriage Ceremonies in its historical surroundings. We offer a fine choice of menus from an inspired selection for your wedding breakfast, however, it is important to us that every detail of your Wedding day is personal to you and with this in mind, once you have booked and confirmed your wedding at The Crown, we will invite you and your partner to the Hotel to discuss and create your own personalised day.
